Programs
Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) $165
Required 4 hour course for new purchasers of handguns in Maryland. Certain exceptions apply. The following topics below are covered during the 4 hour session. The live fire portion is also included and required for course completion.
- Pistol knowledge and operation
- Pistol action types
- Rules for safe gun handling and use
- Ammunition knowledge
- Fundamentals of pistol shooting
- Intro to MD firearms laws
- Selecting your first pistol
- Maintenance and storage
- Application process
Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) Virtual $165
The HQL virtual class provides the same instruction as the in-person HQL course. The major difference is the lecture portion can be done in the comfort of your home. However the live fire portion is still required for completion and will need to be scheduled. Topics covered are the same in both HQL courses. Topics covered included, State firearm law, home firearm safety, handgun mechanisms and operation. An overview of proper operation and safe handling of a handgun, including cleaning and maintenance, loading and unloading of ammunition and the differences between revolvers and semi-automatic handguns. The “live fire” qualification requirement has to be scheduled and completed before approval will be submitted. During the live fire session your range fee, eye and ear protection as well as ammo are covered. Various virtual platforms are able to be used including, Microsoft Teams, Skype and Zoom.
MD Wear and Carry Permit $365
Required 16 hour 2 part course, students will leave with an understanding of carry procedures, legal issues and use of force in addition to the following:
- Mindset

- Introduce and Review Safe Gun Handling Rules
- Pistol Parts and Operation
- Ammunition knowledge and selection
- Cleaning and Maintenance
- Holster selection
- Maryland Firearms Laws
- Use of Deadly Force
- Additional Training

Live fire session
- Demonstrate Safety principals
- Demonstrate Marksmanship Skills
Successful completion of this course require students to shoot a qualification course of fire. The passing qualification requirement need is a 70% rating to qualify.
Holster Basics/ Pistol Accuracy $175 (2hr)
This training is for anyone looking for a personalized experience in developing new skills and improving upon existing skills. This course is available on a one-on-one, or open enrollment drop in basis. Sessions are 2 hours in length.
The chief benefit and function of private instruction is that each session is custom tailored to the specific needs of the student(s). Typical sessions include a focus and expanded in depth instruction on the following:

- Trigger Control
- Proper Stance
- Breath Control
- Sight Picture/ Sight Alignment
- Alignment Follow
- Malfunctions and Clearing
- Student Concerns
- Holster Function
- Student questions and concerns
MD Wear and Carry Renewal $175 (8hr)
Our Maryland Wear and Carry renewal is a one day training. Maryland law requires eight (8) hours of training and proficiency with your firearm.Twenty-Five (25) rounds are required to be fired with a minimum passing score of 70 percent. Maryland law requires we cover the following for your renewal: Maryland Law, Firearm Safety, Firearm Operation and Mechanics of the gun as well as some basic shooting.
